Credits for Previous Training
Avara’s Academy of Hair and International Academy of Hair also offer a course to licensed cosmetologists who may want to add barbering to their field of training. The required time is (600) hours in accordance with Maryland law. However, the cosmetologist license must be current and in good standing to receive the (600) hours credit. The curriculum will follow the same Basic Barbering curriculum used for the 1200 hour course. The tuition paid will be for the required (600), times the rate per hour. Items such as tools, fees, books and State Board Exam will be added to the tuition in accordance with the standard cost, This applies to all students, self-pay, VA, Voc. Rehab, Or any other program.
